Intuitive Surgical Equipment Frame
We provided engineering services for Kobza and Associates as part of a tenant improvement for Intuitive Surgical in Sunnyvale. The frame is to support ceiling mounted equipment that is too heavy to support off of the existing wood roof above. The surgical room will be used for testing and training. The frame will support lights, flat panels and two booms: equipment and anesthesia. The frame is designed to support the weight of the equipment although the size of the frame is driven primarily for rigidity to minimize movement of the equipment as it is in use as well as in an earthquake. We also provided structural design for new mechanical units on the roof and equipment anchorage. Intuitive Surgical is an innovative biomedical company; it is exciting and rewarding to work with with such a company.
